Larger Sandusky Bay Conference programs forming new league

Ten of the 12 schools that make up the Sandusky Bay Conference’s Bay and Lake divisions have announced the formation of a new conference, furthering a shake-up of area leagues.

The Northern Ohio Conference is set to begin play in the 2026-27 academic year. All six members of the SBC’s Lake Division — Bellevue, Clyde, Norwalk, Sandusky, Sandusky Perkins, and Tiffin Columbian — will join the new league, as will Huron, Milan, Port Clinton, and Vermilion from the SBC’s Bay Division.

According to a news release from the new conference, “The conference will recognize 21 varsity sports, demonstrating a comprehensive commitment to interscholastic athletics, student-athletic development, and academic excellence. The 10 schools of the NOC have a history of athletic excellence and academic achievement, establishing what promises to be the region’s premiere athletic conference.”…
