The Toledo Lucas County Public Library’s annual Juneteenth celebration returns to the Main Library rooftop from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 14.
Presented in partnership with the NAACP Toledo Branch and the AXL Chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the Juneteenth rooftop celebration brings together the community for an evening of live entertainment by DJMPRESS, delicately crafted food and an open beer and wine bar.
The Toledo Library has hosted the rooftop gathering since 2021 to observe Juneteenth, which recognizes June 19 as the day of emancipation of enslaved people in Texas. It is marked with celebrations and family gatherings across the country and is a time for reflection, rejoicing and looking ahead…
