Deputy injured as woman attempts to flee arrest at courthouse

A Lucas County sheriff’s deputy was injured Thursday morning as he attempted to apprehend a woman who had fled Toledo Municipal Court.

According to court officials, Kara L. Rose, 33, was in Courtroom 2 around 11:30 a.m. on two theft charges and a charge of leaving the scene of an accident.  All three offenses are first-degree misdemeanors.

Judge William Connelly, Jr., sentenced her to 180 days each on both theft charges, and ordered she be taken into custody to await transport to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker, Ohio…
