TOLEDO, Ohio — With grocery prices continuing to stretch family budgets, a Toledo food pantry is stepping up in a big way by feeding as many as 1,200 people each month and helping families put nutritious meals on the table.
Located inside the Lutheran Social Services headquarters on Collingwood Boulevard, the Emergency Choice Food Pantry serves up to 90 families a week, according to Director Debbie Lysk.
“When clients come in, we have volunteers that shop with them,” Lysk said. “We are a choice pantry, so they get to shop for the items that they want.”…
