Toymaker Norman Riley remembered for his craft and passion

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Norman Riley, who created and donated uncountable toys for 13abc’s Hope For The Holidays Toy Drive over the years, died last Thursday at the age of 98.

The beloved figure’s handcrafted wooden models came from a lifetime of passion for woodworking, which included work for the Ward O’Hara Agricultural Museum in New York. There’s even a display honoring his work there.

Before his passing, he worked with his son to build a giant doll house in honor of his late wife, which was donated to the Charter Senior Living – Oak Openings, where they lived in Sylvania…
