The massive campaign to plant 250 million trees across the Great Lakes region by 2033 is off and running, with an estimated 27 million planted during the first full year of the initiative, the conference of Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers announced Monday.
The Chicago-based group is the official body of governors from the eight Great Lakes states and the premiers from Ontario and Quebec.
The governors and premiers announced plans for the tree-planting campaign at their leadership summit in Cleveland in October, 2023, at the Great Lakes Science Center. Gov.
