Michigan State police, Monroe college offering free law enforcement academy

MONROE — Young people between 16 and 21 who are interested in a career in law enforcement can attend a free weeklong career academy at Monroe County Community College next month.

The college’s criminal justice program and the Michigan State Police host the June 16-20 program which gives “participants the opportunity to experience the criminal justice system from the perspective of a police recruit and explore if a career as a police officer, deputy sheriff or state trooper is for them,” according to a release from the college.
