PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Residents of Perrysburg gathered Monday to commemorate Memorial Day with a blend of tradition, patriotism and community pride, honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
In Perrysburg, Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the start of summer, it’s a day for reflection, remembrance and connection. Rain or shine, families fill the streets of downtown each year for the city’s annual parade and ceremonies.
“I just love the sense of community in Perrysburg,” resident Heather Smith said. “Rain or shine, tons of people show up, and you just run into friends and family. It’s a chance to see a bunch of people and enjoy the nice day.”…
