School officials respond to concerns over Venezuelan man who enrolled as student

Perrysburg school officials announced they are “reviewing our enrollment protocols” following the revelation last week that a 24-year-old Venezuelan man had been masquerading as a high school student for 17 months.

Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra on Tuesday waived his right to a preliminary hearing in federal court. His case on several federal firearms violations and immigration charges will be sent to a grand jury.

Mr. Labrador, who overstayed his work visa and remained in the country illegally, was arrested May 19 by the Perrysburg Police Department on charges of felony forgery. Those charges stemmed from the documents he presented to Perrysburg school officials to support his claims that he was then a 16-year-old boy…
