IDA — All day every day, Ida’s Old 23 Grill serves a $5 half-pound burger topped with lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickle and onion.
“Cooked to order, it’s one of our most popular items on the menu,” said manager Noel Patton. “Our beef and eggs are purchased from local farmers. It’s very important to support local because the farmers support us. A large group of farmers come in every morning and sit at what we call ‘the farm table.’ Sometimes, they are here before we are.”
Located at 3168 Lewis Ave., the restaurant has been in the community for more than seven decades. It’s currently owned and operated by Vasel Lucaj of Ida. He purchased the business during the COVID-19 pandemic and has owned several restaurants in the Hamtramck and Pontiac areas…
