Maumee woman dies when car hits 2 cyclists on River Road

A Maumee woman died Saturday morning when a car struck her bicycle as she and two other cyclists rode along South River Road in Providence Township, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

Roseann Marie Peiffer, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash reported at 9:44 a.m. along South River near Yawberg Road, troopers from the patrol’s Toledo post said.

Her bicycle and one ridden by Gustav Caillaux Casalino Perez Velazco, 50, of Maumee were headed east on the roadway’s southerly edge line and were struck by a westbound Mercedes-Benz E350 driven by Kacey B.
