On June 8th, Monroe Street Church and Monroe Street Neighborhood Center will host a Community Picnic. There will be food, games, tours and fellowship. The Community Picnic is open to all and will be begin after morning service, which starts at 10:30 am with the Picnic starting at noon.
Former Pastor Bob Alexander will give the morning message. Pastor Alexander retired at the end of June 2024, serving in the ministry for over sixty-one years. Pastor Alexander and his wife Gail live near Columbus and are excited to come back for a day of celebration. Pastor Alexander served as Senior Pastor at Monroe Street Church from 1997-2001. Durning his time at Monroe Street Church he led and expanded many outreach ministries, including the Monroe Street Neighborhood Center, which was formed in 2000. The Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and this year marks it’s twenty-fiBh year of service to the community. Pastor Alexander’s love and passion for pastoral care is shown by the many programs that Monroe Street Church and the Neighborhood Center provide to the community, fulfilling their mission to serve the surrounding neighborhood.
