‘Frightening’ 2,000x safe limit of E. coli found in Toledo creek after sewer overflow issue

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Roughly 2,000 times the safe limit of E. coli was detected in Delaware Creek at the sanitary overflow source, and about 50 times the safe limit was found in Swan Creek, according to a city spokesperson. A public health advisory is in place, warning residents to stay away from the water.

Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz called the findings more than disappointing — he says it’s frightening.
