Perrysburg teacher enters plea deal; charge may be dismissed in August

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — A former Perrysburg teacher accused of following a student home has entered a plea deal that could lead to the dismissal of the case if conditions are met by later this summer.

William “Bill” Hilt, who taught social studies at Hull Prairie Intermediate School, appeared in court Wednesday for a scheduled plea hearing. Prosecutors and Hilt agreed to a plea deal known as a “call of the prosecutor,” meaning the case is being held open at the discretion of the prosecutor, pending certain conditions.

Under its terms, Hilt agreed to the call of the prosecutor plea on criminal trespass charges, and the case will be continued until Aug. 18. If Hilt abides by all conditions of the agreement – including having no contact with the victim – the charge will be dismissed…
