Restaurant reports: Ottawa County

The Ottawa County Health Department’s Sanitation Division reported the following critical violations during food inspections between May 1 and May 30.

The Mac Stack Tavern, 4046 E. Harbor Road, Port Clinton. Violations: Several foods exceeded the seven-day discard date, corrected; several surfaces coming in contact with food are chipped or cracked; ice machine and three-component sink in bar did not have air-gap in line as required.

Gas and Express Marts DBA Wild Wings, 9055 W. Ohio 2, Oak Harbor. Violations: Handwash sink in the bar and the one in the kitchen both used or blocked. The handwashing sink may only be used for handwashing and be accessible, corrected; a dented can of mandarin oranges in storage and cans must be in good condition; shelled eggs next to ready-to-eat food, raw steak stored above ready-to-eat foods and raw chicken next to shrimp, corrected; residue buildup on the slicer; beef barley soup at 90 degrees after three hours of cooling and should be at 70 degrees within two hours, discarded; multiple foods kept past seven-day discard date, corrected; quint concentration exceeded 500 parts per million and the sanitizer should meet specified requirements; medicine being stored above food in retail area…
