Man who held wife hostage, tried to shoot neighbor pleads guilty to multiple counts

A Toledo man who held his wife captive in their home, then tried to kill a neighbor with whom the wife took refuge after escaping pleaded guilty Monday afternoon to attempted murder and abduction.

Michiel Robinson, 43, of the 1300 block of West Alexis Road, faces up to 21 years in prison when Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Lindsay Navarre sentences him June 30.

Robinson had been scheduled for trial starting Monday afternoon, and a jury pool waited elsewhere in the courthouse during the brief plea hearing, which concluded with Judge Navarre denying a defense request that Robinson’s telephone privileges at the Lucas County jail be reinstated…
