State Rep. Josh Williams (R., Sylvania Township) said he is certain that former Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez is under investigation by the state auditor, asserting the reference to an ongoing investigation in an audit document is the one launched at his request.
The existence of an investigation was confirmed in the state auditor’s letter to county officials, which included a reference to an ongoing investigation. The management letter, obtained by The Blade, was issued after the county’s 2024 audit and detailed suggestions for compliance in future audits.
