Fugitive who escaped custody found stabbed in Toledo apartment

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo fugitive on the run for weeks was found stabbed in a south Toledo apartment and now two people are charged with helping hide him.

Juanya Gray, 26, who escaped a jail transport vehicle on June 6 while being transported by Lucas County Correctional Treatment Facility to Mercy-St. Vincent Medical Center, was found Tuesday evening after police responded to an apartment on Pinebrook Parkway in on a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, police found Gray inside a bathroom of the south Toledo apartment complex with a stabbing wound to his head. He was taken to UToledo Medical Center and is expected to survive the injury. How Gray sustained the injury is not known at this time…
