Oregon Mayor Mike Seferian has again replaced the headliner for Boomfest, the annual Independence Day celebration that features local bands, vendors, and a fireworks display.
Originally, Little River Band was scheduled to perform at the Aug. 9 event, but the $50,000 cost to hire the group proved too steep. The event was in danger of being canceled due to a shortage of funds. To avoid that, Little River Band was canceled, and Jump, a Van Halen tribute band, was hired for $6,500.
