‘We’re getting there’: Lucas County Fair organizers hope for success after budget setbacks

MAUMEE, Ohio — Visitors to this year’s Lucas County Fair can expect something a little different in the spotlight: a rodeo will serve as the main event instead of a headline concert.

Fair organizers say the choice came down to budget and availability. Steve Shattuck, producer with Oklahoma-based TK Pro Rodeo, says fans can expect top-tier competition when the rodeo kicks off at 5 p.m. on Sunday.

“We’ve got over 50 world champion titles coming to the Lucas County Fair,” Shattuck said. “We’ve got the contestants. We’ve got award-winning stock. We’re hitting all the bases.”…
