Former letter carrier convicted of shepherding drug-laden packages

A former Toledo letter carrier has pleaded guilty to federal charges that he illegally shipped narcotics through the mail on another’s behalf.

Marcus Gaines, 34, entered his pleas Thursday in U.S. District Court in Toledo to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances with intent to distribute, and two counts of attempted possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
