Heat advisory prompts Toledo to open cooling stations

An impending heat wave has prompted public officials to announce the openings of cooling centers across the city of Toledo and elsewhere in Lucas County.

National Weather Service offices in Cleveland, White Lake, Mich., North Webster, Ind., and Wilmington, Ohio, on Wednesday posted heat advisories that together cover all of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan and are effective Thursday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m.
