Lowe’s Hometowns grant helping to transform Cherry Street Mission’s Sparrow’s Nest

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A new look is coming to one of Cherry Street Mission’s facilities. The organization has been awarded a grant to make improvements to The Sparrow’s Nest, the Mission’s women’s shelter.

Torn ceilings, misplaced floor tiles, chipped paint and even holes in walls are what residents at The Sparrow’s Nest deal with every day.

“Our Sparrow’s Nest is almost 100 years old. And it is really facing some physical challenges. And for the women who live here, it’s really important to have a space that helps people heal,” said Ann Ebbert, CEO of Cherry Street Mission…
