Last week, Shrewsbury Police Department had its hands full with a series of crime-related incidents, a few of which were pinned down thanks to the help of a Flock camera system. The camera’s first notable contribution resulted in the discovery of a stolen vehicle on July 14 that had made its way into Shrewsbury. Located in the 7400 block of Watson Road, officers found the vehicle abandoned and promptly had it towed to aid an investigation by the Maumee Ohio Police Department, according to the Shrewsbury Police Department’s recent report.
The following day witnessed yet another vehicular ordeal, after a driver crash into a business on Lansdowne Ave and fled the scene. Thanks to Flock camera technology, the suspect’s vehicle was cataloged and spotted upon its return to the city. Police nabbed the driver and arrested him, with the case now pending a review by the Saint Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for potential felony charges, the city’s crime report noted.
On the same vein, July 17 brought forth a theft from a vehicle where an individual’s credit cards were stealthily siphoned from his unattended and unlocked truck. Luckily, no fraudulent charges emerged from the incident and the investigation remains active. Later that day, another traffic stop in Shrewsbury ended in the arrest of a driver who was wanted on an active warrant, leaving him to face what the police describe as an “unhappy judge,” as reported by the Shrewsbury Police Department…
