FREMONT – Law enforcement is getting $300,000 worth of high-tech assistance in Sandusky County by purchasing Flock safety cameras. The license plate reading units are already being installed in Fremont.
Company literature states that the system is already in use in more than 6,000 towns, which includes both public law enforcement and business customers.
“I have been a fan of Flock for a long time. I think it’s because, when I was a detective sergeant in investigations, I was interested in getting any information I could about the whereabouts of a suspect,” Fremont Police Chief Derek Wensinger said. “In 2025, how does anybody get anywhere in this community? Well, probably by walking, a bicycle or a vehicle. So vehicles are, one way or another, connected in some way with nearly every criminal event.”…
