Search-warrant challenges likely in Kei’mani Latigue case

The lead attorney for Darnell Jones, the capital-murder defendant in the Kei’mani Latigue case, told a Lucas County judge Monday morning that he expects to challenge at least some of the search warrants police executed in the case.

Defense lawyer David Klucas, whose team two weeks ago filed a motion seeking to dismiss the case’s death-penalty specifications as unconstitutional, on Monday told Judge Michael Goulding he expects to file motions to suppress search warrants by the third week of September. He also said in Lucas County Common Pleas Court that he expects to submit all defense motions related to evidence discovery by the third week of August.
