After years of promises, plans, and false starts, two historic buildings at the corner of Madison Avenue and Huron Street in downtown Toledo are being prepared for redevelopment and renewal.
The Spitzer and Nicholas buildings sit across from each other at an intersection called the Four Corners, a crossroads where all four of the intersection’s original downtown buildings still stand. Removal of asbestos and other hazardous materials has already been completed.
The interior demolition is expected to be completed in the spring of 2026. Exterior work will continue until the end of 2026…
