Editorial: Tenants’ safety feared in failing buildings

The city of Toledo must insist on higher standards of building maintenance than is evident in the conditions that residents of Executive Towers are experiencing.

The city’s Department of Building and Code Compliance was right to issue a strongly worded notice of nuisance violation and to insist upon immediate attention by the owners.

The issue involving Executive Towers on Collingwood Boulevard initially appeared worrisome because of the implied potential for a catastrophic outcome.
