Tick drop-off boxes for disease testing now available to public at 3 locations

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Area Sanitary District is making it easier for residents to get ticks tested for diseases with the rollout of public drop-off boxes.

Collection boxes are now available at:

  • TASD office, 5015 Stickney Ave.
  • Wildwood Metropark
  • Pearson Park

When a tick is found, residents can place it in one of the pre-labeled plastic baggies provided at the drop-off site. If the tick is already in a container, the container should be placed inside one of TASD’s labeled bags with the label visible from the outside. The bag or container must be sealed tightly.

Next, scan the QR code on the box or visit the TASD website to fill out the “Report a Tick” survey. The label on the bag matches the tick to the survey submission. Ticks without labels or identifying information will not be tested…
