A new Washington Township roundabout’s opening will be up to six days late, the Lucas County Engineer’s Office announced Tuesday.
Summit Street and Shoreland Avenue were scheduled for a 45-day closing when Vernon Nagel, Inc., of Napoleon began rebuilding the intersection July 15. But the contractor has been granted one additional day because of bad weather and five because of “unforeseen circumstances involving the road base during excavation,” the county engineer’s office said on its Facebook page.
The delay pushes the project deadline back to Sept. 4 instead of Aug. 30, “although it could be finished sooner and closer to the original date,” the office said…
