TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Officials with the Toledo Lucas County Public Library said that the library will be asking the board of trustees to take action on consolidating the Toledo Heights and Heatherdowns locations.
According to the official, if approved, the Toledo Heights location would cease operations in January. The Heatherdowns one would remain open while the library explores the idea of building a new library between the two locations.
The official with the library said the decision came as a result of the biennium budget that was passed by the state in June. As a result of the passed budget, the Public Library Fund changed to an appropriation instead of a percentage. The official said that funding from the state budget has not kept up with inflation…
