New gas stations in Toledo drive competition, offer cheaper fill-ups

TOLEDO, Ohio — Gas prices across Ohio have ticked upward in recent days, but drivers in Toledo are finding some relief at newly opened stations offering discounts to draw in customers.

Average gas prices in Ohio rose more than five cents a gallon last week, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. He said the increase is part of a regular trend known as price cycling.

“Gas prices over the last week did go up; average gas prices in Ohio jumped over 5 cents a gallon,” De Haan said…
