TOLEDO, Ohio — Famous for its pies, a favorite Toledo diner is temporarily closing its doors after a hood fire broke out Friday morning at Schmucker’s Restaurant in west Toledo.
Owner Doug Schmucker said he was called to the restaurant around 7 a.m.
“That was the worst phone call I could ever get,” Schmucker said. “I went inside and there was water dripping from the ceiling, and the ceiling was all torn down. Behind the counter, the floor was completely covered with debris.”…
