FREMONT — A two-vehicle crash in Sandusky County left one person dead and three others injured, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported Sunday.
The patrol’s Fremont Post said Elaine Reiter, 74, of Helena, Ohio, was traveling southbound on County Road 128 Saturday at 9:35 p.m. when she failed to yield from the stop sign and entered the intersection of U.S. 20. A Ford Explorer, driven by Troy Borrelli, 17, Avon Lake, Ohio, was traveling south eastbound on U.S. 20 and struck Mrs. Reiter’s Chrysler Town & Country, the patrol said. The Explorer then went off the south side of the road and hit a guardrail.
Mrs. Reiter’s passenger, Alfred Reiter, 75, was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol said. Mrs. Reiter was transported to Mercy Health Saint Vincent Medical Center in Toledo. The teenager and his passenger, Nathan Shivey, 16, of Avon Lake, were both transported to Fremont ProMedica Hospital…
