Man charged with shooting death at party pleads guilty to manslaughter

On the verge of trial for murder, a central Toledo man pleaded guilty Monday morning to involuntary manslaughter for another man’s Oct. 27 shooting death at a Halloween party in South Toledo.

Elijah Garza, 24, of the 2200 block of Dorr Street, faces up to 14 to 19½ years in prison when sentenced Sept. 22 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ian English.
