Tragic Fire Causes Heavy Damage to East Toledo Home

It was just before 8 p.m. on a quiet Sunday evening when the fire broke out on the 1400 block of Lebanon Street in East Toledo. I can only imagine the sudden panic of waking up to flames licking the walls—fortunately, one of the residents, a woman in the home, noticed the fire in time and woke her male housemate. Thanks to her quick action, both of them managed to get out safely.

Reading about it, I keep thinking about how easily these situations can escalate. Even in a structurally sound home, a fire that starts unnoticed can cause serious damage in minutes. In this case, the flames heavily damaged the front of the house, but the overall structure remained intact.
