I-73 could be a disaster for Chillicothe

Re “I-73 between Columbus, Toledo would be a financial disaster ” Aug. 18: Jason Warner is right, Ohio can’t afford an I-73.

Especially here in Chillicothe. It took us years and lots of help from lots of people to get Ross County’s prehistoric monuments recognized internationally as the treasures they are. Tourism is picking up, and it’s a good thing because our historic paper mill — our main industry — is closing. And what we can’t afford the most would be the disruption that the construction would cause.

A major highway would displace many homes and farms and throw traffic into a horrible snafu for the years it would take to build…
