US EPA begins cleaning up Omni Polymers facility

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has begun removing hazardous substances from a chemical storage facility in Toledo.

According to a press release from Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, the cleanup will address thousands of containers that were left behind after the facility was abandoned.

“The start of this long-overdue cleanup at the Omni Polymers site represents a critical victory for the health and safety of Toledo residents. For too long, families in our city have been forced to live with the consequences of environmental neglect and industrial irresponsibility,” said Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-09).“Our neighborhoods are not dumping grounds. Our people deserve clean air, clean water, and safe streets. This is a start.”…
