TOLEDO, Ohio — Charles Walker and Brent Kohlhofer, the two men sentenced to life in prison for the brutal 2022 kidnapping and murder of Toledo teenagers Ke’Marion Wilder and KyShawn Pittman, have filed post-conviction petitions claiming their innocence and alleging serious constitutional violations that they say led to their wrongful convictions.
The co-defendants, who were tried together in a joint trial in May 2024, have filed separate but coordinated petitions in Lucas County Common Pleas Court, using many of the same exhibits and evidence.
On Dec. 3, 2022, Ke’Marion and KyShawn were kidnapped, bound, killed and burned, with their bodies found more than 10 days later in the rubble of a vacant house on Chase Street that had been destroyed in an arson.
