A teenage boy who assisted a 22-year-old man in a fatal beating last year received a four-year sentence to juvenile detention Tuesday for his role.
His defense lawyer, the prosecutor, and Juvenile Court Judge Linda Knepp alike expressed hope Malachy Turner, 16, will chart a new course in his life once he has proper guidance.
“The whole juvenile system is designed to help you grow into adulthood,” Judge Knepp said. “We can’t change your past, how you came to us, we can’t make that better. What we can do is make your future better.”…
