Fire near railroad tracks under control, Perrysburg Township Fire Chief says

WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — Multiple spots of fire broke out near railroad tracks in Perrysburg Township Wednesday afternoon, which firefighters were able to get under control.

Just before 3 p.m., smoke appeared on traffic cameras near the I-75/I-475 split in Perrysburg. WTOL 11 crews went to the scene and observed fire trucks near Owens Community College. Though the smoke was not immediately visible, the smell of the smoke remained in the air.

WTOL 11 spoke to Perrysburg Township’s Fire Chief, Tom Brice, who said that multiple spots of fire were observed at the time that crews arrived on scene, but that the fire was under control as of 3:40 p.m. The fire had broken out on the railroad tracks between Fresh Products and Owens Community College, near the Tracy Road crossing…
