Darnell Jones’ defense lawyers’ subpoena for Lucas County Children Services records relating to Jones’ daughter Kei’mani Latigue will be the subject of a hearing next week before the judge overseeing Jones’ capital-murder case.
David Klucas, one of Jones’ three appointed lawyers, told Judge Michael Goulding during a status conference Friday morning in Lucas County Common Pleas Court that he had been ready to argue the subpoena’s validity during that conference, but he had an incorrect email address for William Dailey, the assistant county prosecutor handling that aspect of the case.
Mr. Dailey said that because of that error — which arose because the email address he was given when he recently returned to the county prosecutor’s office after a brief stint elsewhere was different by one letter to his former address — he did not receive Mr. Klucas’ memorandum and thus told Children Services staff they need not be present in court Friday…
