The Metroparks Toledo Board of Park Commissioners approved the acquisition of another 14.74 acres of land in western Lucas County at its monthly board meeting Wednesday.
The vote came moments after the board learned of an unexpected twist: The park district’s expanded events and activities have caused the need to increase the portion of its budget that is dedicated to providing visitors with portable toilets.
