Paws hit the ground running at Lucas County’s new high-tech canine facility

TOLEDO, Ohio — Tails were wagging as Lucas County Canine Care & Control officially opened its new building on Monroe Street. The state-of-the-art facility was designed with 177 kennels, a large play yard, and modern adoption space.

The staff are still adjusting to the new 39,300 square foot, $31.9 million complex, but they say that it’s a welcomed change.

“We get lost sometimes still and we have some growing pain,” said Cassie Bloomfield, LC4’s community outreach coordinator. “So as long as everyone is patient with us, we’ll be great.”…
