Over the course of her 31-year law enforcement career, Sylvania police Chief Danilynn Miller has seen police departments struggle to fill positions.
“Law enforcement, in general, has had a hard time recruiting, hiring, and retaining officers,” Chief Miller said. “During the pandemic, police departments lost officers due to retirement and injuries. Being an officer was not popular for a while.”
