Former Clay teacher sentenced to 10 days in jail

Michael Heck, a former Clay High School science teacher who pleaded no contest to a pair of first-degree misdemeanor counts of assault on July 30, received a 10-day jail sentence and two years probation on Sept. 30.

Heck, 54, was issued a 180-day sentence by visiting Judge Jeffrey Keller with all but 10 days suspended to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. He was also placed on two years of community control and fined $300 plus court costs of $97.

The original accusation of inappropriate contact took place in May 2023, where he was accused of inappropriately touching and pursuing a female student, going to her work, and hugging her on several occasions…
