‘I just thought it was woods’: Perrysburg Township house declared nuisance after years of complaints

PERRYSBURG, Perrysburg Township — What once looked like a small forest in the middle of a neighborhood isn’t a wooded lot; it’s someone’s yard. And after years of frustration, township officials have now declared the property a public nuisance.

The home, located off Wilson Street in Perrysburg Township, has been abandoned for nearly 18 years, according to township zoning inspector JD Justus. Over the years, trees, brush and debris have overtaken the property. Justus says when he first visited, the structure was barely visible from the street.

“It is the worst property that I’ve seen in my two years here,” Justus said…
