BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn is urging drivers to remain alert for deer on the roads this fall, especially in November, which historically sees the highest number of vehicle-deer crashes in the county.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to 292 deer-related crashes in 2024. Of those, 54 occurred in November, followed by 48 in October. December also ranks among the highest-risk months.
So far in 2025, the sheriff’s office has handled 165 deer-related crashes. These numbers only include incidents handled by the sheriff’s department and do not reflect totals from other law enforcement agencies in the county…
