2 local restaurants evacuated following swatting incidents

PERRYSBURG, Ohio — Two Perrysburg Township restaurants were evacuated Monday after false emergency calls led police to respond to reports of possible threats.

According to Perrysburg Township Police Chief Matt Gazarek, someone swatted two local restaurants. Officers from both Perrysburg Township and Perrysburg Police responded to Wendy’s and McDonald’s on Route 20, helping employees and customers safely evacuate.
