An employee died on Monday at First Solar’s Perrysburg, Ohio, facility. WTOL 11 reports that the incident occurred on Monday morning in what the Lucas County Coroner’s Office deemed to be an accidental death. The company is a manufacturer of solar panels.
The coroner’s office identified the deceased as Sy Doan, 28. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be multiple blunt force injuries to the chest with compressive asphyxia. WVTG reports that company officials told authorities that Doan was attempting to work on a hydraulic press machine that had malfunctioned. The machine reset when he went into it.
